Loss
Loss can take many forms. It does not always relate only to bereavement. Any significant change or ending in life can create feelings of grief.
Examples of loss include:
- Bereavement and grief following the death of a loved one
- Relationship breakdown or divorce
- Loss of friendships
- Loss of employment or career changes
- Loss of identity or purpose
- Loss of health or physical ability
- Loss of independence
- Moving home or leaving a familiar environment
- Loss of routine or stability
- Pet loss
Counselling can help you process grief, understand the emotions attached to loss, and find a way to adjust to life after change.
