Loss

Loss can take many forms. It does not always relate only to bereavement. Any significant change or ending in life can create feelings of grief.

Examples of loss include:

  • Bereavement and grief following the death of a loved one
  • Relationship breakdown or divorce
  • Loss of friendships
  • Loss of employment or career changes
  • Loss of identity or purpose
  • Loss of health or physical ability
  • Loss of independence
  • Moving home or leaving a familiar environment
  • Loss of routine or stability
  • Pet loss
