Loss
Loss is something that everyone experiences at different times in life. While many people associate loss with bereavement, it can also relate to many other significant changes such as the end of a relationship, loss of employment, changes in health, loss of identity, or major life transitions. These experiences can bring feelings of sadness, confusion, anger, loneliness, or a sense of being overwhelmed.
Grief and loss affect each person differently and there is no “right” way to process these emotions. Sometimes people find themselves feeling stuck, unable to move forward, or unsure how to make sense of what they are experiencing.
Counselling can provide a supportive and confidential space to talk openly about your loss. Through conversation and reflection, it can help you understand your feelings, process the impact of what has happened, and begin to find a way forward at your own pace.
If you are struggling with loss and would like support, you are welcome to get in touch to discuss how counselling may help.
Examples of loss include:
- Bereavement and grief following the death of a loved one
- Relationship breakdown or divorce
- Loss of friendships
- Loss of employment or career changes
- Loss of identity or purpose
- Loss of health or physical ability
- Loss of independence
- Moving home or leaving a familiar environment
- Loss of routine or stability
- Pet loss
Counselling can help you process grief, understand the emotions attached to loss, and find a way to adjust to life after change.
